MEASUREMENT LESSON ONE (08 JUNE 2020)

Good morning Grade tens.

You can find attached notes on conversions. please feel free to add them to your exercise book if you so wish to. There are also two exercises that MUST be completed in your books.

Please note that this lesson will be a revision lesson on the topic of measurement, looking specifically at length and distance.

Remember: Moving from mm through to km, the rule is to divide by the factor in red.

Moving in the opposite direction ie from km to mm, we multiply by the factor in red.

       mm    10    cm     100     m     1000     km

e.g.:        5 000 mm converted to m = 5 m, we divide by the 10 (from mm to cm) and then by 100 (from cm to m)

For more explanations, please refer to the notes.

Please answer the following questions alongside. final answers only, do not forget about your units.

Please work out the exercises in your books. It must be clearly dated (08 June 2020) and have the heading MEASUREMENT: LENGTH AND DISTANCE.
