Road Sign Gantry Tender

A tender is like quoting for work. A company needing a job done will ask for tenders, because they need the work done as cheap as possible, but also as best as possible. 
 
The government has put a tender notice in the newspaper requesting tenders from engineering firms to make road sign gantries for the N3 between Howick and Pietermaritzburg . That means for every exit off the freeway and every entry onto the freeway your company will have to make a gantry as specified in the design brief.
 
To determine the cost of each gantry you must calculate the cost of materials and labour. This means you will use the cheapest, strongest material for each part of the structure.
 
Follow the instructions on page 8 in your Technology File and use the examples in the attached document to prepare a tender for the above mentioned project.
 
Before the lesson:
Complete numbers 2 and 5 in the spaces provided on page 8.
Draw number 7 on Page 2 in your Technology File
Draw the Isometric Drawing of your gantry on page 2 in your Drawing Portfolio.
 
You will complete this task in class on 23 or 24/10/2023 
You will be given paper to do numbers 1, 3, 4, and 6 in class.
