Please mark and correct your work before moving on to today’s work!

TODAY WE SHALL TALK ABOUT POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE NUMERS AND TIME FORMATS.

Remember, we refer to positive and negative numbers as integers. Attached is a file called notes. There are a few instances where we use these numbers in real life contexts. have a look through these. When you return to school, we will have them handed out to you so that you may stick them into your book.

TIME FORMATS

These are found in the file called notes are methods of how one goes about converting between time formats. These are extremely helpful when looking at time in context. Remember that in Mathematical Literacy, all we do is to look at numbers as they relate to real world situations. Hence it is important to see the numbers as having meanings rather than  just 2 + 2 = 4. So, in Math Lit we say perhaps 2 days + 5 days = 7 days which is also 1 week.

These notes in the attachment show you the various ways to convert. Remember that these methods are ultimately the same, choose the one you are most comfortable with.

WHAT YOU HAD TO DO:

The exercises are attached in the file called exercises.

IN YOUR BOOK:
Write today’s date (10 Feb 2021)

(There are two exercises. Please name them accordingly in your books)

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Tomorrow we begin with more work. WORKING WITH A CALCULATOR TO SOLVE BASIC MATHS CALCULATIONS
