Below is a paragraph which highlights the qualities that a performer needs to possess in order to be a part of a movement performance.

 

The performer should be able to work well within a group on an intellectual and creative level. He/she needs to physically fit. The performer should have a physical mastery of his/her body. The performer should be comfortable and confident with close physical contact as movement involves a great deal of touch and contact. Flexibility is a bonus when performing a movement piece. The performer should have good balance skills and should be able to support other performers especially during 'lifts'. He/ she must have good coordination and a good sense of rhythm. Listening skills, concentration, confidence, reasoning,tolerance and discipline are key to the success of a performance. The ownness lies upon each individual to ensure that he/she is fit and is able to use his/her strength to the benefit of the performance. Trust and honesty contribute largely to effective teamwork as well.
